"Snow Buntings B&W"

I love this photo for all that it is. The fragility, beauty, perseverance... it's such an intimate little look at a microcosm of life, especially for these snow buntings huddled in an Iowa soybean field amidst howling winds on a whiteout winters day. Unfortunately this image is cropped to the degree that I only offer it in smaller 8x12 prints; but it's still one of my favorites and I'm proud to share it here.
This is a black and white print that I had made as a potential state fair entry. Ultimately I decided to stick with the color version, but it was a very close call! Photo © copyright by Josh Meier.
