Sunrise alpenglow sets the peaks ablaze in this traditional lakeside view of the iconic Maroon Bells. Said to be the most photographed mountains in Colorado, it's easy to understand the popularity of this gorgeous scene, especially in autumn when golden aspens accent the symmetrical reflection in early morning light. I shot this during a transformative time in my career, when I was both trying to gain courage in shooting shoulder to shoulder with established professionals and developing awareness of the importance of capturing images through a vision distinctly my own. You can see a result of the latter effort in my complimentary image "Autumn, Maroon Bells"with a unique glimpse of these famed mountains from beneath the brilliant yellow canopy, and I'll share my lesson from shooting in competitive quarters in a blog post coming soon.
