The people have spoken, results are in and we've made it to the Championship round.
Out of the Canadian Rockies is "Moraine Lake" -the number one seed from the Mountains Division that sailed through the competition thanks to its dramatic sky and turquoise glacial water. Moraine knocked off "Mesa Arch" to advance to this final by a score of 37 to 19, and hasn't had a competing image finish within 10 votes of it yet.
And the challenger, with the five seed that took the Prairie & Forests Division crown, we have "After the Storm." People are drawn to the power of this photo caught as the sun cracks the horizon in wake of a passing Iowa thunderstorm. The photo was taken just west of Tipton; where I grew up and a place I will forever know as home. "After the Storm" beat "Macbride Rainbow" in its semi-final by a score of 35-21.
Championship voting will run from Sunday evening, March 28 through Noon on Monday the 29. Once final votes are counted, I will announce the winning photo along with all prize drawing winners.
