As a nature photographer, like many of my peers, I was first drawn to sweeping, dramatic scenes. Vivid, colorful skies over stunning vistas made for pre-packaged photos in waiting, all but wrapped with a bow. And of course I will always be awed and enthusiastic to capture such images. But as my vision has evolved I'm coming more in tune with the artistry to be found in intimate scenes- those subtle little treasures in nature that beg us to slow down and deeply appreciate what is so often overlooked. They remind that beauty doesn't always demand our attention, and the gift in seeing what's often unnoticed can sometimes provide the greatest joy of all.
