2022 March Madness Round One- Iowa Landscapes

This category has of course long been near and dear to me, as one of my primary photo goals has always been to showcase the beauty of Iowa- in all it's seasons, features and forms. I do have a couple of ideas for specific locations that I'd like to attempt to photograph this spring if conditions line up well- so this is the one division where I am most likely to add options prior to this year's entry deadline- but for now these are my top contenders.

The Round 1 Matchups are as follows:

Pale purple coneflowers greet the dawn at Herbert Hoover National Historic Site in West Branch, Iowa.

1) "Prairie Dreams" (Herbert Hoover National Historic Site, West Branch)

"Hitchcock Trail" (Hitchcock Nature Center, Honey Creek)

An early morning rainbow over a barn in rural Cedar County, Iowa.

2) "Weathered Soul" (Cedar County)

"Palisades" (Palisades-Kepler State Park)

Fog parts along the river bottom on an October morning in Palisades-Kepler State Park, Iowa.

3) "Country Road- Take Me Home" (Cedar County)

"Crimson & Clover" (Madison County)

Red clover and Queen Anne's Lace fill a roadside ditch near Hogback Covered Bridge in Madison County, Iowa.

Murray Hill rises over a quiet rural highway in the Loess Hills of Harrison County, Iowa.

4) "Murray Hill" (Harrison County)

"Loess Hills" (Monona County)

The golden glow of a late October sunrise paints tall grass and autumn foliage in Iowa's Loess Hills.
